Clara Mulligan has unparalleled expertise in transforming brands through communication design, brand design, and innovation. As Head of Design, Europe, and Managing Partner at Anomaly, she leads Brand Design and Innovation across the agency’s European offices.
During Clara’s 20+ year design career, armed with her exuberant style, media- and form-agnostic approach, and a strategically driven mindset, she has helped brands discover, visualize, and broadcast their next chapter. Whether revitalizing legacy brands seeking renewed relevance, helping scale-ups find their place in culture, or responding to design innovations that culture demands, her work is dedicated to the creation, transformation, and acceleration of brands.
She has developed effective design practices for some of the world's top creative agencies by embracing a broader, more holistic definition of design and the value it brings to clients. Her design leadership, concepts, and craftsmanship have been recognized and awarded globally.
Having lived in the US, EU, and currently the UK, Clara’s experience is truly global, allowing her to strategically and visually articulate work for international companies. Her holistic approach to design integrates all aspects of brand communication into distinctive, modern systems.
Most recently, Clara has led the brand transformations, global design systems and visual identities for brands such as Speedo, Johnnie Walker, Starbucks and Unilever, alongside cultural icons such as Rimowa, Women’s Super League and Tonies. These systems are purposefully built to connect communication, brand design and innovation more effectively, resulting in customer devotion and promoting commercial growth.

Clara also has experience judging prestigious design and advertising festivals and has spoken on numerous panels and at international engagements. Most recently, she served as a judge for D&AD in the Art Direction and Digital Design categories, and for the Shark Awards in the Design category.
